Yuck

After 4 months of waiting, I got the dreaded R from M&B today. Yuck. And to make matters worse, it was a form R. So I have no idea what I did wrong. How can I be sure that I don't do the same thing again?

On the plus side, at least I can finally put this story to bed and move on to something new. I've been working on one story for far too long. Maybe that was part of the problem--maybe it had gotten stale.

So onward and upward.

Still sucks though.

Sending a cyber-tiara your way, Marcy.

You've earned it just for finally working up the intestinal fortitude to submit.

I've been lucky to never have a form R, but har/sil has R'd me 3 times. Believe it or not, it does get easier and for me, it made me all the more determined to find a home for my story.

FWIW, I'd back burner this one for a while and run with a 'shiny new idea'. Then when you go back to this one, you might see exactly what it needs to cross that finish line!

(((HUGS)))

Thanks for all your words of encouragement everyone! I'm feeling better today. In fact, ideas have already started forming for my next WIP.

Maybe this will be the kick in the pants I needed to get my creativity flowing again. I can either use this to make me more determined or slink away with my tail between my legs...which isn't going to happen. I am going to be published. It's just a matter of when.

Just wanted to pop over and say - you're a fabbo writer so don't let the R dampen your dream. You can do it! Believe (as they say in the Polar Express).

And you've been a rock for me when I've needed it.

So, when you're chocked out. And ready to get back on the horse. If you wanna swap partials before the big send off (not that I'm wise - far from it) I'm ready and willing if you are.

We can and will The force is STRONG!

Ugh. You're right. A form R is depressing.
But I remember Jenny Crusise spoke at a conference once and told us about all the form Rs she'd gotten in the beginning--and how some were even xeroxed form Rs!
Hang in there! It's all a learning process.
